Roller Hockey Tournament – What to Pack

Please read the following information carefully to ensure you have all required items for your international tournament trip. Do not assume you will be able to purchase equipment or supplies at the event.

🏒 HOCKEY EQUIPMENT (REQUIRED)

  • Helmet
    All True North Eh! Team players are required to bring a CSA approved COMPLETE helmet including mask and ear guards.

  • Gloves

  • Sticks

  • Girdle

  • Elbow Pads

  • Shin Pads

  • Roller Blades

  • Extra wheels & bearings
    Bring at least one spare set in your bag.

  • Stick tape

  • Sock tape

  • Skate tools
    Bring any tools needed for maintenance or repairs.

⚠️ Important: Do not rely on vendors at the event. You must be fully self-sufficient.

👕 TEAM CLOTHING & APPAREL

  • Players will receive a team clothing package.
    Distribution details will be emailed prior to departure.

  • Please also pack:

    • Gym shorts (for warm-ups before games)

    • Casual clothing suitable for summer weather
      (California climate – plan accordingly-Can get chilly at night so bring a hoody)

  • A team dress code will be established prior and will be enforced at the event.

🌍 TRAVEL & PERSONAL ITEMS

  • Valid passport
    Ensure it does not expire within 6 months of travel.

  • Personal toiletries

  • Medication (if applicable)

🧾 INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS (MANDATORY)

  • Travel & Health Insurance

    • Roller Hockey Canada and South Central Alberta Inline Hockey League provide coverage while playing inline hockey.

    • All players must purchase general travel insurance for the trip

  • If your insurance is not covered by your credit card or employer, you must purchase a policy.

  • Please bring two photocopies of your travel insurance:

    • One copy for yourself

    • One copy to be submitted to team staff with your medical forms

 EXTRAS & FUN IDEAS (OPTIONAL)

  • Souvenirs or small Canadian items
    (Dollar stores are a great option)

  • Consider contacting your local MP for small plastic Canada pins to trade or share.

❗ VERY IMPORTANT – CARRY-ON BAG

When traveling, pack your jerseys and hockey pants in your carry-on bag.

  • Checked bags can be delayed or lost

  • Replacement gear may be possible

  • Replacement jerseys and pants will NOT be available
